SUMMARY:2025 Five Borough Waterfront Mayoral Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Gowanus Dredgers are co-sponsoring the 2025 Five Borough Waterfront Mayoral Forum. We advocate for and operate water access in seven locations across Brooklyn\, Queens\, and Staten Island\, and we’re excited to hear from this year’s mayoral candidates on their vision for our collective waterfront. Register for the Zoom event here! \nNew York City’s waterfront is home to people\, parks and beaches\, businesses\, docks\, trains\, roads\, ports\, and critical infrastructure that support our daily lives. The next Mayor must embrace the waterfront as a signature priority of their administration. We will be asking candidates a series of questions about the various aspects of the waterfront. The Five Borough Waterfront Forum is where candidates for Mayor will answer questions and present their vision for climate\, recreation\, maritime\, workforce\, public access\, and all things across New York City’s 520 linear miles of shoreline. \nThis Forum is sponsored by the following organizations: \nCity Island Rising\, Environmental Defense Fund\, Gowanus Canal Conservancy\, Gowanus Dredgers\, Jamaica Bay – Rockaway Parks Conservancy\, LES Ready!\, Natural Areas Conservancy\, NYC Soil and Water Conservation District\, New York League of Conservation Voters – EF\, Newtown Creek Alliance\, Ocean Bay CDC\, Regional Plan Association\, South Bronx Unite\, Staten Island Urban Center\, SWIM Coalition\, Urban Green Council\, and the Waterfront Alliance. \nThis event is coupled with the 2025 Waterfront Conference\, hosted in-person at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in Battery Park City\, on May 13. Registration for the Waterfront Conference is not required to attend the Virtual Mayoral Candidates Forum.
